White Hair Ministry is a mentoring outreach led by Jeannie Hannemann, M.A., and Victoria Gossens, LCSW, dedicated to helping older adults embrace one of God's greatest gifts—the wisdom that comes through a lifetime of faith, joy, suffering, healing, and perseverance.
The name White Hair Ministry was lovingly given to us by our dear friend, Vicki Thorn, founder of Project Rachel and a tireless champion of life and healing. Vicki believed that white hair is not simply a sign of growing older, but a visible reminder that God has been faithfully forming us through the years. She envisioned a ministry where those with "white hair" would intentionally share the lessons they have learned, accompany younger generations, and become mentors who help others navigate life's challenges with hope and wisdom. We are honored to carry forward the name and mission she entrusted to us.
At Homemade Holiness, White Hair Ministry invites grandparents, retirees, seasoned parents, and every older adult (with any color hair or no hair) to recognize that they are not nearing the end of their usefulness—they are entering one of their most important seasons of ministry. The world does not simply need more information. It needs wise men and women who are willing to share their stories, walk beside others, and leave a legacy of faith that will continue to bear fruit for many generations to come.
We encourage both formal and informal opportunities to share your "white hair wisdom." For some, this may mean becoming a Spiritual Mother, Spiritual Father, Spiritual Grandmother, or Spiritual Grandfather to children, teens, young adults, parents, or families who long for the guidance of a trusted mentor.
Others may discover "grandchildren of the heart"—people unrelated by blood but deeply connected through love, encouragement, and faith.
Sometimes the greatest ministry is simply reaching out to support, listen to, pray with, and accompany the very person God places in your path.
Every life experience, every lesson learned, and every story of God's faithfulness becomes a gift that can strengthen another person's journey and build a lasting legacy of hope.
